How do you put a Cadillac XT5 in Neutral with a dead battery?

Can I still tow my Cadillac XT5 if the battery is dead? Since I can’t turn on my car, I don’t know how to switch into Neutral so I can tow my car to a shop.

To put your
Cadillac XT5
 in Neutral with a dead battery, you’ll need to follow these steps:
  1. Without depressing the brake, press and hold the Start/Stop button for about 5 seconds. This will switch your electronics into service mode.
  2. Once you’ve released the Start/Stop button, depress the brake.
  3. Move your gearshift lever to N.
  4. Release the brake slowly and carefully, as your vehicle will likely begin to roll.
If this doesn’t work, you may need to give your battery a charge before you can shift your vehicle into Neutral. This can be done via a portable car charger or by calling someone else to jump your CTS.
