How do you program a Subaru Outback garage door opener?
I recently purchased a used Subaru Outback and while doing some research online, I discovered that I can program my garage door opener to my Outback. Problem is, I’m not sure how to do this. Any idea how to program the garage door opener on a Subaru Outback?

Subaru Outback
garage door opener sounds confusing, it’s actually a very simple process. Follow these easy steps to program the garage door opener in your Outback:
- Press and release the HomeLink button you’d like to program. This button is located on the bottom of your rearview mirror.
- The indicator light will begin to flash slowly. Position the garage door remote 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink button. Press and hold your remote button until the indicator light changes from orange to green.
- Press the HomeLink button again. If the indicator light remains a steady green, you’re all set! You can now use your programmed button to open your garage door.
If the indicator light quickly flashes green instead, follow these extra steps:
- Press and release the “learn” button on your garage door control center.
- Press and hold the HomeLink button for 2 seconds, then release the button. Repeat this process three times until your garage door opens and closes.
Now you should be able to use your HomeLink button to open and close your garage door from your Subaru Outback!
