I just picked up a new key fob for my Subaru Crosstrek so that my daughter can borrow it when I am not at home. But now, I have no idea how to make the thing work. How do you program a Subaru key fob?
key is simple, but it does take a little timing and coordination. Here is what you need to do:
Get in the car, and make sure all the doors are closed and unlocked.
Open and close the driver-side door.
Put the key in the ignition and turn it from lock to on and back to lock. (Do not crank the engine) **Do this a total of 10 times in 15 seconds. **If done correctly, the car horn will beep once.
Open and close the driver-side door. **You are now in programming mode. **
Press any button on the remote that you are programming. The horn will beep twice to indicate that the remote is programmed.
**Repeat steps 4&5 **to program any additional remotes to the vehicle.
Remove the key from the ignition. If all has gone well, the horn will honk three times to let you know that you have left programming mode, and you should be all set to test your remote!
Now that you are officially sharing a car with your daughter, odds are you’ve added her to your insurance policy without giving it much thought. But there is a good chance you could be saving money by shopping around a bit. The
