How do you program a key fob for a 2007 Nissan Altima?

Hello! I just got a replacement fob for my car key and I don’t know how to set it up. Can you tell me how to program a key fob for a 2007 Nissan Altima?

A car dealership will charge you a few hundred dollars to program a key fob, so I totally get why you want to do it yourself. But unfortunately, programming the key fob for a 2007
Nissan Altima
requires a dealer scan tool to complete the procedure.
Nissan
Altima models from 1997 to 2006 had an owner-programmable key fob, but that ended in 2007 with the 3rd generation vehicle. Your best bet is to head to your nearest dealer and have your key programmed (or nix the fob and open your door the old-fashioned way, by putting the key in the lock). And if you’re thinking of buying a replacement remote online, think again—generic remotes, even other Nissan remotes, are not compatible with the Altima’s keyless entry system.
