How do you program a Honda key fob?

What’s the best way to program a Honda key fob? I just got a new one so that my husband can keep one on his keys too, but I’m not sure how to connect it to my car.

Programming
key fobs
can be a complicated process, so you’ll need to take it one step at a time. Follow these instructions to program your Honda key fob:
  1. Get into your car with all of the doors closed and locked.
  2. Turn your ignition to the ON position.
  3. Press the LOCK button on the remote you’d like to program, then turn your car to OFF.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times.
  5. Then, turn your car to ON and press the lock button one more time. You should hear a clunking noise to indicate you’ve entered programming mode.
  6. Press the LOCK button on any remotes you’d like to program.
  7. Turn your car to the OFF position one more time, then remove your key from the ignition.
  8. Test your remote to make sure that it works.
Hopefully, these steps will help you program your new Honda key. Remember,
Hondas
can only remember up to three different keys. If you and your husband have two, then you can only connect one more.
