How do you program a BMW Z4 key?

How do I program my BMW Z4 key at home? I dropped my last one in the parking lot and it was run over.

Oh no! I’m glad you could get a new key. To program a
BMW Z4
 key, you’ll need to follow these steps:
  1. Place your new key in the ignition and turn quickly it to and from the first position.
  2. Remove your key, then press and hold the unlock button for 15 seconds.
  3. While you’re holding the unlock button, quickly press the lock button three times in succession.
  4. When you release the unlock button, you should hear the doors lock and unlock to indicate that the pairing was successful.
If you have any problems with your key, repeat these steps one more time! If that doesn’t work, you can always bring your key to the BMW dealership or service center.
