I had to replace the key fob on my car, and now that I have the new one, I am not sure how to make it work. How do you program a 2005 Honda Odyssey keyless remote?

Programming a new key fob is not complicated, but it does require some timing and coordination.
To program 2005 honda odyssey keyless remote(s), gather all the remotes inside the car within easy reach. The process is simple, but you will need to move quickly.
Get in the car with all the doors closed and unlocked.
Put the key into the ignition, and hold the remote in your left hand. If you are programming additional remotes, have them close by.
To enter programming mode:
Step 1
EACH of the following steps must be completed within 5 seconds of one another.
  • Turn the ignition to the on position.
  • Press and hold the lock button on the remote for about 1 second
  • Turn the ignition to the lock position.
  • Repeat this process 3 times
Step 2
  • Turn the ignition to the on position.
Step 3
  • Press the lock button on the same remote. The door locks will lock and unlock indicating the vehicle has successfully entered programming mode.
To program the remote: Within 5 seconds, press the lock button again on the same remote. The door locks should lock and unlock again. This means the vehicle has successfully programmed the remote.
Extra remotes
If you have extra remotes to program, repeat step 3 for each remote. You will have to do this for each remote within 5 seconds of the last.
Exit programming mode
Turn the ignition to lock and remove the key to leave program mode.
If your remote has a trunk release, hold the release button down for 5 seconds. This will program your trunk release as well.
