How do you program a 2002 Toyota Avalon keyless remote?

I just bought a new key fob for my car online, but I don’t want to pay the dealership to program it. Can you tell me how to program a 2002 Toyota Avalon keyless remote?

That’s a smart move! Programming the remote yourself can save you a lot of cash. Here’s how you can program a 2002
Toyota Avalon
keyless remote:
  • Open and unlock the driver’s door with the key out of the ignition
  • Without turning it on, insert the key into the ignition and then remove it
  • Using the power lock switch on the driver’s door, perform five lock/unlock cycles. Try to do about one cycle per second.
  • As you’re finished, put the key in the ignition and then turn it to the on position, then immediately to off
  • Take the key out of the ignition
  • Your car’s power door locks should cycle through a lock/unlock cycle to signal entry into Programming Mode
  • Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote at the same time, and hold them down for one second.
  • Hold down the lock button for two seconds
  • You’re vehicle’s door locks will cycle through the lock/unlock cycle again to indicate successful programming of the remote
To exit programming mode, close the driver’s door.
Now that your keyless remote is programmed, why not review your
