How do you play music through Bluetooth in a MINI Cooper from 2013?

My mom doesn’t need to commute to work anymore, so we’re sharing her 2013 MINI Cooper. While I’m loving its look and feel, I can’t figure out how to play music through Bluetooth. Is there a way to set up Bluetooth in a MINI from 2013?

Ah, nothing like sharing the family ride! The 2013 MINI Cooper came with Bluetooth, but only for hands-free calling—so you’ll have to get creative to play music through it. One option is to purchase a Bluetooth Car Kit and install it in the MINI.
Adding a Bluetooth adapter to an older car
is simpler than it sounds. All you need to do is plug it into the AUX port and power socket on the center console of your MINI Cooper.
The handy adapter pairs with your phone and streams music through the AUX input. Most also offer hands-free calling capabilities, but the 2013 MINI Cooper already has that available with its standard Bluetooth.
You might want to get your mom’s buy-in before adding the Bluetooth adapter, but there’s a benefit to hands-free music selections that might convince her. Streaming music via Bluetooth provides for safer driving, which could ultimately
lower your MINI Cooper insurance costs
