How do you play music through Bluetooth in a 2012 Chevy Silverado?

I drive an older truck, but I want to be able to play my favorite music instead of relying on the radio. How do you play music through Bluetooth in a 2012 Chevy Silverado?

We hear you—being able to listen to your own playlist definitely beats what the radio has to offer! You cannot play music through Bluetooth in a 2012
Chevy Silverado
, though. Instead, you’ll have to use the USB port in the center console to stream your own music. You can use a device like your smartphone, MP3 player, or iPod.
Chevy
does offer Bluetooth as an upgraded feature on the
LTZ
trim, but it has voice-calling capabilities only. If you want to access this feature, follow these steps to pair your phone:
  1. Put your truck in Park and turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  2. Press the phone icon on your steering wheel and say Bluetooth.
  3. After the system says Bluetooth ready, say Pair.
  4. Select your vehicle on your phone and enter the PIN you see on the dashboard (the system might also speak the PIN).
  5. Choose Pair and say the name you want to associate with the vehicle.
Now that you’re all set up, you can make and receive hands-free calls via Bluetooth.
