How do you play music through Bluetooth in a 2012 Chevy Impala?
I just realized that my Chevy has Bluetooth capabilities and I’m itching to start using them. I’m a little confused about where to start, though. How do you play music through Bluetooth in a 2012 Chevy Impala?

It’s always exciting when you discover new capabilities you didn’t know your car had!
Unfortunately, you can’t play music through Bluetooth in your 2012 Chevy Impala. Bluetooth in older cars only works for making and receiving phone calls. However, you can play music from your phone or device through your Impala’s auxiliary input jack on the lower right side of your Chevy’s audio faceplate. To do so, you’ll need to connect a 3.5 mm cable to your Chevy and your device, then press the CD/AUX button.
If you do end up wanting to use your Impala’s Bluetooth capabilities, however, here’s how you can pair your phone:
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device
- Press and hold the phone button on the right of your steering wheel for two seconds
- Say “Bluetooth,” then say “Pair”—your Impala will give you a four-digit PIN
- On your phone, select “Your Vehicle” in the pairable devices list
- Enter the PIN that your vehicle has provided
- Your Impala will then prompt you to name your paired device
And you’re all set! Just keep an eye on the road and make sure you’re not
distracted while driving
