How do you park a car in a parking lot?

How should I park my car in a parking lot? This might sound like a stupid question, but I'm really new to driving, and I'm scared of hitting someone else's car.

Parking your car in a parking lot can be really stressful, especially if you’re a
new driver
. But try not to worry! Try using these tips to make parking easy:
  • Make sure that your car is at least eight feet away from the parked cars around you. This should give you enough room to
    park without hitting anyone
    .
  • When you’re ready to park, make a tight turn towards the spot. As your front bumper passes the taillights of the car in the parking space, keep turning the wheel as much as you can.
  • Move slowly into the space, and watch out for any obstacles like shopping carts or trash.
  • Once your car is in the space, straighten your wheels to make backing out easier.
Just in case you do hit another car, make sure you have the collision coverage you need with
