How do you pair Bluetooth to a Chevy Silverado?

My mom just got a Chevy Silverado 1500 with Bluetooth technology and she’s asked me to help her set it up, but I’m apparently not very tech-savvy. How do you pair Bluetooth to a Chevy Silverado?

Don’t worry, pairing devices can easily baffle even the most tech-savvy of us.
Here’s how to pair Bluetooth to a Chevy Silverado:
  • Start the truck and leave it in park
  • On the infotainment touchscreen, select the Phone icon
  • Select either “Add Phone,” “Pair Device,” or the “+” icon (options vary with model years)
  • Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth and select your Silverado from the pairable device list
  • Make sure the code on your phone matches the code that appears on your touchscreen
  • Select “Pair” on the touchscreen (you may need to do this on your phone as well)
  • Select “Agree” if you want to grant your Silverado access to your phone contacts and messages (you can still make phone calls if you don’t)
  • Your phone should now be paired and will show up on your Silverado’s touchscreen
Alternatively, you can also pair your mom’s phone to her Chevy’s Bluetooth via voice recognition. Just hit “Push-to-Talk”, then say “Pair Phone” after the tone. The touchscreen will then give you instructions to follow.
Once a device is paired to the Silverado’s Bluetooth, it will automatically pair once it detects the device in the vehicle (so long as the device’s Bluetooth is on). Note: only one device can connect at a time. You can check which device is active on the touchscreen’s paired device list. The Silverado will always default to the last connected device, but you can switch to another one by selecting that device in the list (or pairing a new one).
Now that your mom is all set to give you calls on the road, you can also make sure she’s covered out there with quality
