How do you paint car parts properly?

I want to paint certain parts of my car in the engine compartment, including the valve covers, engine block, and maybe some other components. What’s the best way to paint car parts to ensure the paint job lasts?

Painting car parts under the hood, like the engine and other components, can add an alluring aesthetic and unique vibe that makes your vehicle look car show ready. What’s even better, the process isn’t that difficult. Plus, it will be a fraction of the cost of a
professional paint job
and an opportunity to get rid of any rust, grime, or imperfections.
The biggest hurdle you’ll have to clear is getting the engine block and other components out of the car. Enlist the help of others if you’re not sure where to start.
To begin, mix up a degreaser to remove all the grime and buildup from the engine block, valve covers, and other components. Once mixed, use a foam brush to apply the degreaser, then rinse it off with a hose. Note that you may want to put a tub below to catch the dirty water.
Next, dry the parts completely using compressed air or a hairdryer. Then, spray each part with a metal prep solution, which chemically bonds with the engine to prevent rust. Keep the surface wet for 30 minutes, and be as thorough as possible.
Use tape to cover any gaskets or mounting holes to ensure that you don’t get paint inside (at least for the engine block). Tape any other parts that you don’t want to get paint on, as well.
Apply the paint of your choice using a clean foam brush. Make sure that you use high-temperature paint, as regular paint cannot withstand the temperatures and will start to peel. Let it dry thoroughly, then apply additional coats as necessary.
Finally, to protect your vital engine parts and your vehicle as a whole, think about getting an extended warranty or full coverage car insurance. Use the
