How do you open the hood of a Subaru Outback?

I’m trying to open the hood of my Subaru Outback to check the engine fluids. But since this is my first Subaru, I can’t figure out how to open the hood. How can I open the hood of my Subaru Outback?

Congrats on your first
Subaru
! Fortunately, it is fairly easy to open the hood of a
Subaru Outback
.
All you need to do is follow these simple steps to pop the hood open:
  • On the left-hand side of the driver’s side beneath the dash you’ll find the hood release lever. This lever will be marked by an open car hood icon
  • When you’ve located the lever, pull it to release the hood
  • Make your way to the front of the car. The hood should be cracked slightly open, allowing you to slide your fingers underneath it
  • Using your fingers, release the second hood release lever by nudging it to the left. This second lever is typically above the emblem on the front of your car
  • You should now be able to lift the hood easily
If you’ve walked through these steps but can’t get the hood levers to release, then you may need to seek out an auto mechanic to diagnose the problem. In general, it is good to make sure your
car insurance
policy has
comprehensive coverage
so that unexpected visits to the mechanic are covered.
If you don’t have comprehensive coverage included in your Subaru’s insurance plan,
