How do you open the hood of a Nissan Altima from the outside?

without first pulling the release lever inside the car. But if you want to try your hand at lockpicking, here’s something you can try. Step 1: Get a better angle through the grille. You should be able to see the release latch of your Altima’s hood through the grille. Angle a flashlight up towards the hood in the middle of the grille.
Step 2: Once you’ve found the release latch, use a thin tool like a small screwdriver or a sturdy wire to trip the latch. If your Altima is a model with a removable grille, you can remove the grille to reach the lever better. But you shouldn’t remove the grill if it’s not meant to come off; you can end up spending money on a mechanic if you end up doing accidental damage to the grille.
Step 3: If that doesn’t work, or feels like too much effort, you can always call a mechanic. They’ll be able to help you out and fix your issue in just a few minutes.
