Fortunately, opening the hood on a
Jeep Gladiators
is fairly simple. Whether you have a Gladiator
Mojave
,
Rubicon
,
Overland
, or
Sport
, the process will be the same.
All you need to do is follow three simple steps to pop the hood open:
  • Undo the latches on both sides of the hood—you’re looking for the large latches towards the front sides of the hood, right above the headlights.
  • Run your fingers beneath the edge, directly above the Jeep logo. You’re looking for the hood release latch. Once you find this, nudge the latch to the left to release the hood.
  • Gently raise the hood by pushing it up at the edges.
  • Lower the hood stand folded underneath the hood—this will be the pole you’ll see as you lift the hood up. As you lower the hood stand, secure it in the hole at the front of the vehicle. This will keep the hood propped open so you can easily work on the engine without any difficulty.
Whether you’re a new or seasoned
Jeep
owner, sometimes the hood might not open. In these cases, you may want to get some advice from an auto mechanic. In general, it is good to make sure your
car insurance
policy has
comprehensive coverage
so that unexpected visits to the mechanic are covered.
