How do you open the gas tank on a Nissan Maxima from 2017?
I recently bought a 2017 Nissan Maxima from a used car dealership, and the tank is running low, but I can’t figure out where the tank release lever is. How do I open the gas tank?

Nissan Maxima
from 2017, unlock the doors and press the right side of the fuel door to release it. You will hear a click, and the door will pop open. Then you can remove the gas cap and fuel your car! When it comes time to fill up your Maxima, look at the gas gauge—you will see a small icon symbolizing a gas pump with an arrow. That arrow represents the side of your car that the fuel filler door is on.
If you’ve fueled your car and replaced the gas cap but the door or gas cap is not closed correctly, you will see a warning message on your gauge cluster. Failure to shut the fuel door and cap securely can also cause your
check engine light
to illuminate. Keep in mind that
Nissan
recommends using premium gas to promote optimal performance. The Maxima’s engine is one with higher compression, so it’s recommended to use fuel with a higher octane rating. View full answer
