How do you open the gas tank on a Mitsubishi Eclipse?
I just bought a Mitsubishi Eclipse after driving the same car for almost a decade, and I’m completely lost on how to open the gas tank. It used to be so simple! How can I get the gas tank open on my Eclipse?

Good old cars used to make gas tanks simple, so you’re not alone in being a bit confused when it comes to your new ride. There’s a handy lever on the left side of the driver’s seat in the Mitsubishi Eclipse that you can pull upward to get the gas tank open.
Once you’ve pulled the lever, head to the gas compartment on the rear left side of your car. All you need to do is twist the cap counter-clockwise, and you can easily open the gas tank.
While gas tanks have become slightly more complex, they’re also safer and more secure—so you can rest assured that you’ll be in for a smooth ride in your new Eclipse!
