How do you open the gas tank on a Jeep Compass?
I drove off the dealership lot with a Jeep Compass and discovered, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to open the gas tank! How do you open the gas tank on a Jeep Compass?

- Press on the gas tank door cover like a button.
This will release the latch, allowing you to open the tank and fuel up.
To open the gas tank on a Jeep Compass from 2018 or prior:
- Locate the gas tank button on the driver’s side door trim. It will be a small button with a picture of a gas tank on it, located near the window controls.
- Press the gas tank button to open the fuel tank door cover.
Pro tip: If your gas tank door ever gets stuck, look for an emergency fuel door release in the cargo area. It should be under the rear, right-hand side trim.
