How do you open the gas tank on a Honda Civic from 2006?

I need to fill up the tank on my cousin’s car that I borrowed, but I can’t figure out how. Can you tell me how to open the gas tank on a Honda Civic from 2006?

Making sure a borrowed car’s tank is filled up is very considerate of you! To open the gas tank on a
Honda Civic
from 2006, you’ll need to use the fuel tank release lever. Here’s what you need to do:
  1. Look for the fuel tank release lever on the driver’s side floor to the left of the seat
  2. Push this lever down—you may be able to hear the faint pop of the fuel tank door opening
  3. Once done refueling, push the door of the gas tank closed until you hear it click into place
Now that you know how to refuel your borrowed 2006 Honda Civic, take some time to make sure you have all the
car insurance
you need to drive it.
Most car insurance policies follow the vehicle—not the driver—so you may not need to worry about coverage if your cousin already has a policy for their Civic. However, you may want to consider buying
non-owner car insurance
if you regularly drive borrowed cars. This will keep you properly covered no matter whose car you’re driving!
