I just traded in my Tesla for a BMW i3, so it’s been a while since I’ve had to deal with pumping gas. How do you open the gas tank on a BMW i3?

To open the gas tank on your BMW i3, look for the fuel button to the left of your steering wheel. Press it, and wait for the “Refueling Possible” message to pop up on your infotainment screen.

Then, exit your vehicle and walk around to your fuel door, which is located at the front of the vehicle, near the passenger door, and gently push it in with your fingertips. When the door pops open, turn the gas cap in a counterclockwise direction to remove it, then insert the fuel nozzle into the funnel to fill your car.

When you’re done, just reattach the gas cap and push the fuel door closed again.
