Good question—knowing how to fill up your car’s tank is one of the most basic necessities of driving! To open the gas tank on a 2019 Kia Soul, you’ll need to pull the fuel filler door opening lever.

This lever will be located on the front floor area near the driver’s seat. Reach down with your left hand while seated in the driver’s seat to locate it and pull up. You should hear a popping or clicking sound, indicating that your fuel filler door has sprung open.

Once the door is open, you simply need to twist the gas cap off by turning it counterclockwise (to the left). After refueling, replace the gas cap by twisting it to the right until it clicks into place, and then press the door shut to seal it.
