I’m considering a used 2016 BMW X5, but want to learn more about the car before I make any decisions. How do you open the gas tank on a 2016 BMW X5?

- Unlock your fuel door by pushing the fuel button located to the left of your steering wheel.
- Exit the vehicle and walk around to the fuel door itself.
- Push the door with your fingertips to pop it open.
- Unscrew the gas cap by turning it in a clockwise motion.
And you’re ready to fill up your car! You can use premium gasoline if you want to follow the manufacturer’s recommendation, but regular and mid-grade fuels are both safe to use. When you’re done refueling, screw your gas cap back on and push the fuel door closed again.
