How do you open the gas tank on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I just got a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I need to put gas in it for the first time. I can’t figure out for the life of me how to open the gas tank. How does the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gas tank door open?

To open the gas tank door on a 2014
Jeep Grand Cherokee
, look under the headlight switch on the driver’s side dash to find the gas tank door release button, give it a push, and the gas tank door should unlatch for you.If that doesn’t work, you can release the fuel tank door with the emergency release. Remove the storage container on the rear driver’s side in the cargo area to access the emergency release strap. Give that a pull and your fuel tank door should unlatch.

has kept Grand Cherokee owners on their toes over the last decade. From 2011 to 2018, Jeep fashioned the Grand Cherokee with a push-button release as described above. But, on Grand Cherokee models produced from 2019 to the present, there is no gas tank door release button or lever.To open the gas tank on those models, all you have to do is push on the rear edge of the gas tank door itself, and the door should unlatch—which has only led to more confusion. Some newer models are also equipped with an emergency release strap similar to the one described above.
