How do you open the gas tank on a 2009 Dodge Charger?

I bought a 2009 Dodge Charger earlier this week and planned to refuel it on my way home from work, but I don’t know how to open the fuel filler door—how do you open the gas tank on a 2009 Dodge Charger?

Opening the gas tank on a 2009
Dodge Charger
is very simple—all you have to do is step out of your vehicle, walk to the fuel filler door, and press in on the rear left edge of the door. Upon applying pressure, the door will automatically spring open part way, after which you can manually pull it open further.
Now that you’ve got the fuel filler door open, unscrew the gas cap and set the gas cap tether on the hook attached to the interior of the door—the gas tank is now accessible and you are ready to refuel.
The type of fuel you use will depend on your 2009 Dodge Charger’s engine. If you have the standard 2.7L engine, you will need to use high-quality unleaded “regular” gasoline with an octane rating of 87. If you have the larger 3.5L or 5.7L engine, on the other hand, you can use high-quality unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of anywhere between 87 and 89.
Before fueling up for the first time, make sure you know how much gasoline your 2009 Dodge Charger can hold, as fuel tank capacity varies slightly depending on trim level and model options.
Once you’ve filled up the tank, replace the gas cap—it will make an audible “click” when it is locked in place—and firmly shut the fuel filler door.
