How do you open the gas tank on a 2009 Cadillac CTS?
I pulled into a gas station to fill up my car, but I couldn’t figure out how to open the gas tank. I had to drive away without getting gas—so embarrassing! How do you get the gas tank on a 2009 Cadillac CTS open?

It’s happened to the best of us! To open the gas tank on a 2009 Cadillac CTS, all you have to do is turn off your engine, walk to the gas tank door, push on the rear edge of the door, and it should pop open.
Everything else behind the fuel door will be just as you remember it. When you’re done at the pump, make sure you put the gas cap back on tightly. If the gas cap isn’t sealed enough, it could cause the check engine light to come on. More often than not, you can solve the problem by adjusting the gas cap as needed.
If the gas cap is on properly and the check engine light is still coming on, take your vehicle to your Cadillac dealer to have the issue looked at.
