How do you open the gas tank of a BMW 325i? I’m borrowing my sister’s car, and I feel clueless! But I’m also too proud to ask her myself. Any help here?

Figuring out the gas tank on a
BMW 325i
can feel deceptively tricky if you’re not used to the fuel door mechanism. Luckily, it’s pretty simple once you’ve figured it out.Here’s how you can open the gas tank on a BMW 325i:
- When you’re ready to refuel, unlock the vehicle, which will also unlock the fuel door
- At the fuel filler door, push in on the outer edge of the door until you hear a click. Then, the door should pop out
- Once the door is open, unscrew the fuel filler cap. The fuel door has a bracket where you can place the cap while you’re refueling
- After you’ve finished filling up the tank, replace the cap and press in on the door until it’s securely latched
If you’re having trouble getting the fuel door to open on its own there’s a manual release in the trunk area behind a panel near where the fuel filler door would be. Pull on the knob with the fuel pump symbol, and the fuel filler door should release.
If you’re still having trouble with the fuel door, it’s possible there might be a problem with the mechanism allowing it to open, in which case you might want to check with a qualified mechanic for help.
