How do you open the gas tank in a Honda Accord?
Where is the gas tank lever for a Honda Accord? I can never remember how to open my wife’s gas tank and it makes me feel terrible when I return her car with a low tank.

- Turn off your car and unlock your doors. If the driver’s side door is locked, you won’t be able to open your fuel door or access your gas tank.
- Exit your vehicle and walk to your fuel door. Gently, press inward on the right-hand side of your fuel door. When you do this, you should hear a soft click as the spring mechanism releases and the door pops open.
- Swing the fuel door fully open to reveal the gas tank underneath.
- Your Honda Accord will not have a gas cap, so you’ll be able to fuel your vehicle right after opening the fuel door!
Remember, if your driver’s side door is locked, you won’t be able to access the fuel tank. This is the most common problem that drivers experience when attempting to access the fuel tank. This safety mechanism was put into place to protect your gas tank from tampering, but it can be frustrating if you attempt to open your fuel tank without unlocking your car!
