key fob, gotten it wet, or otherwise damaged it, your battery probably needs replacing. The good news is that changing the battery on your key fob is really simple and much cheaper than getting a replacement fob.
Flip your key fob over and find the little notch in the back. Push this down to release the valet key
Take a small flathead screwdriver and gently insert it into the key fob seam. Apply gentle pressure to separate the two key fob pieces
Gently lift the battery out of its housing. Install the new battery
Put the key fob pieces back together and then re-insert the valet key
If replacing the battery doesn’t fix your key fob, you may need to get a replacement. Your nearest Ford dealership should be able to help you get a new key fob.
