How do you open a Dodge Neon SXT hood?
I bought my first Dodge Neon but can’t figure out how to pop the hood. Can you help me open the hood of a Dodge Neon SXT?

Congrats on your new car!
- Open the driver’s side door and look for the hood release lever—this will be beneath the steering wheel, on the lower left side of the cabin.
- Pull the hood release lever to pop the hood.
- Walk around to the front of the car—the hood should be slightly ajar.
- Slide your fingers beneath the hood, right above theDodgesymbol—you’re feeling for the safety catch. Once you find it, push it to the right while lifting it up to open the hood.
- Hold the hood open with one hand and raise the kickstand with the other. Insert the kickstand into the groove on the upper inside rim of the hood—this will keep the hood propped open while you work.
When you’re ready to close your
Dodge Neon SXT’s
hood, simply put the kickstand back down and firmly close the hood shut. You’ll hear the safety catch click when the hood is securely closed. Since it sounds like this is a new car, now is also a good time to make sure you have the right
