How do you open a 2017 Honda Odyssey gas tank?

I’m borrowing my mom’s old minivan for a road trip next week, but I’ve never driven one. I don’t want any nasty little gas tank-related surprises when we pull up at the first rest stop, ok? How do I open the gas tank on a 2017 Honda Odyssey?

I’m honestly very jealous. It’s awesome to take a minivan on a road trip! There’s so much space for your buddies and all their stuff, and everyone’s comfy—and if you’re like me and you grew up riding to school in your aunt’s minivan, there’s always a bit of nostalgia.

You don’t have anything to worry about when it comes to the gas tank. It’s capless, baby! It really couldn’t be easier. To open the gas tank on a 2017 Honda Odyssey, just unlock the doors and press on the right side of the fuel door—it’ll bounce open. There’s no gas cap to unscrew, either. Press the nozzle right into the fuel door and start fueling up.

Once you’ve finished filling up, wait a few seconds before pulling the nozzle out. You don’t want gas to drip all over the side of the van!

The 2017 Odyssey takes 21 gallons of gas and will get you about 19 miles per gallon in the city and 27 on the highway. Happy road-tripping!
