How do you open a 2004 Honda Civic gas tank?

I borrowed my friend’s 2004 Civic and at some point, I’m going to need to fill up with gas. How do I get the fuel door open? I tried pushing it and that didn’t work…

Some vehicles have spring-loaded fuel doors and some have levers—the
Honda Civic
happens to be one with a lever inside the car. You can open a 2004 Civic fuel tank by pushing the lever on the floor to the left of the driver’s seat.
The lever has a gas pump icon and the words “PUSH,” so it’s hard to miss! Once you push it, the fuel door should pop right open. Then, hop on over to said door and flip it open the rest of the way, unscrew the gas cap, and fill ‘er up.
A 2004 Civic takes about 13 gallons of gas and will get around 30 miles per gallon if it’s still in good shape. If you want to make your dollar go further and
save money on gas
, here are some tips:
  • Don’t let your car idle
  • Don’t use premium gas unless your car specifically requires it
  • Follow a regular car maintenance schedule to keep it running efficiently
Happy driving!
