Lucky for you, you probably already have the three household items proven to work as car wash soap replacements:
- Dish soap
- Hand soap
- Conditioner
Of those three, your best option and often easiest available is dish soap. Dish soap works like a charm and is pretty cheap compared to car wash soap. If you choose dish soap, consider mixing it with either a ¼ of vinegar or ¼ of baking soda. Doing so will create a super-powered soap without any harsh chemicals that could potentially
damage your paint
. Whatever you choose, make sure to rinse your car thoroughly. Rinsing is an integral part of car washing that many undervalue and can help prevent streaking or paint swirls.
Investing in a good car sealant or wax will be beneficial as well. Applying one after washing your car can help protect your car’s clear coat and make your washes last longer.
