How do you make car insurance cheaper for new drivers?
How can you save money on your insurance when you are a new driver? I’m 17 and recently got my license. I'm a little worried because I know car insurance can be expensive.

“Congratulations on getting your license! Some companies offer discounts for new drivers who complete a training course or who provide proof of good grades (among other requirements) as a way to lower the cost of car insurance.
To qualify for the driver training insurance discount, teens must successfully complete a course focusing on highway safety and defensive driving. Check with your insurance provider to find out more.
You can look into the good student discount, as well. To qualify, most often a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Depending on your provider’s requirements, you may need to provide proof every 6–12 months to verify you still qualify.
Additionally, talk to your parents about being added to the family policy. This is cheaper than purchasing your own separate policy and can save new drivers like you from paying nearly $6,000 or more per year on car insurance!
Finally, keep a clean driving record by avoiding distractions and focusing on the road. Drivers deemed at fault for a car accident inherently pay higher premiums than those with a history of driving safely.
