How do you know what car will be the most affordable?

"I'm either getting a Honda Civic Type R or a Toyota Supra as my first car. It'll be in my dad's name, but I'll be driving it.

I'll be responsible for the insurance and gas. Which one will be cheaper?"

“Both the Honda Civic Type R and Toyota Supra will be similarly rated with
car insurance
carriers.
Although the vehicle will be in your dad’s name, you’ll still need to be on the policy as a driver. You can expect your rates to be significantly higher based on your age as well as the vehicle type.
Since it’s your first car, you’re likely to be considered high risk in comparison to your dad or an older driver. Additionally, sports cars are also more expensive to insure.
Speed and high risk behavior is often associated with ownership. Car insurance carriers will charge higher rates to ensure they can pay out in the event of a claim or accident.
You should get quotes from multiple carriers for both vehicles. From there, you can compare and decide what vehicle you’d be able to afford.”
