How do you know if your car needs an alignment?

Does my car need an alignment? I feel like my car keeps drifting to the right, but it could also be my driving.

“Identifying whether your car needs alignment is easy, but if you’re worried it may be your driving, you may want to enlist the help of your friend or family.
You can have them drive your car and check the steering wheel while driving in a straight line. Is the wheel level or tilted? If the wheel is at an angle while they’re moving straight, then you probably have an issue with your alignment.
Misalignment is a common problem that often results from regular use, so there’s no need to worry. That said, you should get your alignment checked at least once a year.
While misalignment is an easy fix, extreme cases can lead to bigger problems, including:
  • Uneven tire-wear
  • Poor fuel economy
  • Steering issues
  • Damage to the suspension system
Lucky for us, these problems are relatively uncommon, as long as you care for your vehicle.
If you’ve recently been in an accident and find your car is drifting, reach out to your
car insurance company
. You may have coverage for any repairs needed.
