How do you keep the inside of your car windows from frosting?
What should I do to keep the inside of my car windows from frosting over in the winter? My windows keep getting all frosty, and it makes it impossible to see! I’d like to find a good way to keep them as clean as possible.

Car frost can be annoying, but it’s easily avoidable when you know the cause! Generally, your windows frost over because of excess moisture in the car.
Luckily, you can use these tips to keep your windows from frosting over:
- Keep the heat low. When you have the heat running, your car can get too hot, causing moisture in the car (like your sweat or melted snow on the floor) to evaporate. The moisture then clings to the windows and eventually freezes.
- Keep the AC on. You can turn on the AC to clear up your window while running the heater. If you do, the cabin will stay warm while the AC prevents condensation from building up around your window.
- Make sure the cabin is dry. Try putting down towels or seat covers to keep passengers from bringing water in your car. And don’t forget to change them periodically!
- Wipe humidity off the windows. Try slowing down when you leave your car at the end of the day. Wiping down your windows with a napkin or cloth can remove moisture from the surface, preventing frost.
