How do you keep a black car clean?

I picked a black car because I like the color, and I usually wear black because it’s harder to tell if I spilled something on my clothes. But apparently, that rule doesn’t apply to cars. You can see dust, dirt, and mud on it so much easier than most other colors. What’s the easiest way to keep a black car clean?

You are right—dirt and debris pop on darker cars. Arguably, the easiest ways to keep a black car clean are to store it in a garage when you’re not driving, to avoid parking under trees or power lines (because of birds), and to get a car wash membership.
If you’d rather wash the car yourself, you’ll need:
  • Car soap
  • A bucket
  • A washing mitt
  • A clay bar
  • Microfiber cloths
  • Car wax
Here’s what to do:
  • Get the car wet
  • Gently wash it with a soapy mitt
  • Rinse the car well
  • Use the clay bar to remove any stains
  • Rinse again
  • Dry with microfiber towels
  • Apply wax
Some companies make products specifically for black cars to help protect the paint and keep your car shiny. Follow the instructions on the labels of whichever products you get.
