Setting up HomeLink is a relatively simple way to make your life significantly easier! Thankfully, it doesn’t require much effort on your part to install HomeLink in a
Tesla Model 3
.To install HomeLink, you’ll need to:
- Order the device from the Tesla website. You’ll put in your shipping address during checkout. Make sure it is correct as this is where Tesla will send the device.
- Schedule an appointment. Once you receive your HomeLink shipment, do not open the box. If you open the box, your installation will be voided, meaning you’ll have to pay out of pocket or order a new device. Instead, immediately schedule a service appointment for installation. You can do this through the Tesla app.
- Program HomeLink. After your HomeLink installation, follow the instructions to program it. These are available online or in the Model 3 owner’s manual.
Keep in mind that you cannot install HomeLink yourself. Tesla requires that a certified technician complete the installation for you.
