How do you install car rims?

I like my car and want to spruce it up a bit, so I’ve decided to install new rims on my car. The problem is, I’m not mechanically savvy, but I want to save money by doing it myself. How do I install car rims?

Installing car rims is pretty straightforward. Before you can get started though, you need:
  • A jack
  • Socket wrenches
  • Tire lever and/or crowbar
  • Air compressor
Once you have compiled all the items, follow these steps:
  • Choose the tire you want to start with and lift the car using the jack.
  • Take out all the air pressure from the tire.
  • Take the socket wrenches and undo the rim of the now flat tire.
  • Once it’s possible, take the old rim off using the tire lever or crowbar.
  • Taking the new rim and the bolts that came with it, attach it to the wheel.
  • When it’s solidly attached,
    re-inflate the tire
    .
  • Repeat this process for the other three wheels.
  • On your first drive, make sure to drive slow and close to home. You need to test that the rims were installed correctly and you don’t want to end up on the side of the road with flat tires!
