How do you install a roof rack on a Honda CR-V?
My mom’s helping me move to college next weekend, and she said I had to install a roof rack on our car so we can fit all my stuff. What’s the best way to install a roof rack on a Honda?

When it comes to installing a roof rack on a Honda CR-V, no car makes it easier. This vehicle is literally built for roof racks!
That said, you can follow these steps to install your roof rack:
- Step 1: Start by finding the four rack covers on your rails. There should be two on each side.
- Step 2: Wrap the end of a flathead screwdriver with a paper towel and use it to gently pry off the covers. Store the covers in a safe place.
- Step 3: Align the front rack with the frontmost rack slots and side it into place.
- Step 4: Use the washers and bolts provided with your roof rack to connect the front rack to the front slots. There should be three bolts for each side.
- Step 5: Connect the provided covers to each side of the rack—softly push them into place until you hear a click.
- Step 6: Repeat steps 3-5 with the back rack.
- Step 7: Carefully pull on the racks to ensure they’re safe and secure.
Hopefully, these steps will help you safely install your roof racks! Remember, the Honda CR-V roof is rated for about 165 pounds, so try not to overload it.
