How do you get your driving record in Washington state?

I was shopping around for insurance, and I was surprised to see my rates had risen across the board. One insurance agent told me to check my record to see what was on it. How can you access your driving record in Washington?

Sorry to hear that your
car insurance
rates have risen! You can go online or visit the DMV to get your driving record in Washington state.
Washington refers to driving records as driver’s abstracts. Your abstract includes five years of your driving history.
To access your driving record, you have three options:
  1. Go online to dol.wa.gov, download and fill out a Driving Record Request form, and mail it to Driver Records, Department of Licensing, P.O. Box 9048, Olympia, WA 98507.
  2. Go to dol.wa.gov and create a License eXpress account to request online access to your driving abstract.
  3. Go to your local DMV and ask for your driving abstract.
In all cases, you will have to pay $13 for a copy. Hope that helps!
