How do you get to the top of Saddleback Mountain while driving?

I really want to get to the top of Saddleback Mountain in Orange County, but every time I try to go the gates are closed. I have to drive because my husband is in a wheelchair so I’m really hoping the gates will be open at some point! Do you know how I can get up there?

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having so much trouble! In order to get to the top of Saddleback Mountain in
California
 while driving instead of hiking, you’ll need to visit the USDA website and look at the trail closures list. Typically, the gates will be closed if there is rain in the forecast, so try to go on a sunny day.
If you still can’t get in, you may need to contact Cleveland National Forest to learn more about road closures in your area. To do this, you can call 858-673-6180 or visit their office at 10845 Rancho Bernardo Road, Suite 20.
