How do you get the smoke smell out of your car permanently?

I recently bought a used Audi from an older gentleman who smoked A LOT. When I first got the car, I took it to the car wash to have it properly cleaned inside and out, but the smell of smoke seems to be stuck to everything. How do you remove cigarette odor from a car?

Congrats on the new Audi! But I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been stuck with this smoke smell.
Luckily, a few tricks can help you get the smoke smell out of your car permanently. However, you should know that it may take more than one attempt—or even a combination of these methods—depending on how severe the saturation is.
1. Sprinkle baking soda all over the upholstery and carpets, let it sit for at least an hour, and vacuum the car’s interior as thoroughly as possible. Pay close attention to hidden or hard-to-reach places since old ash may have collected in those areas.
2. Air out your car. Roll the windows down on clear, windy days.
3. Leave coffee grounds in the car to soak up the smell. A small cup or bowl will do.
4. Boil a few cinnamon sticks and place them in a travel mug to cool and cleanse the air in your vehicle.
While you’re getting the smoke smell out of your Audi, take some time to think about your
car insurance
. Audi’s are beautiful, well-made vehicles, but they often cost a pretty penny to insure. You likely already have a policy for your car, but you might want to check out the
