How do you get sap off of car paint?

My family and I went hiking this past weekend and when we got back to the car, there was sap on it. How do I remove the sap?

What a frustrating end to a great day! You may be surprised to learn that the best way to remove sap from car paint is with nail polish remover.
Pour the remover onto a cotton ball and gently wipe the affected area. As the sap dissolves, wash away any residue with a paste of baking soda and water to minimize damage to the exterior.
Don’t rub too hard or you could scratch your car. If you do get a scratch or two, though, there are some ways to
remove them from car paint
and keep your car looking as good as new.
