How do you get rust stains off of leather seats?

I'm in the process of moving houses, and I've been transporting a lot of stuff in my backseat. I didn't think I owned anything with too much rust on it—but I just looked into the backseat and noticed rust stains on my leather seats, and I'm kicking myself. How can I get these stains out?

Rust damage
can be really frustrating to deal with, especially while moving! However, it’s not impossible—just remember to move quickly, since leather is a porous material and can absorb stains rapidly! Here’s how to clean the stains:
  • Spray a damp cloth or sponge with vinegar.
  • Blot or gently wipe the stain. Remember, don’t scrub, and keep the surface damp!
  • Apply baking soda or salt. After this, rub gently until the stain is gone.
  • Clean the area with water.
After you remove the rust stains, you should clean your seats with a leather cleaner or conditioner. This will continue to protect and condition your leather seats, and will help you avoid any other damage in the future!
Remember that if you’re the owner of the house you’re moving to, you’ll need home insurance, which can be frustrating to try and find while dealing with all the other elements of moving!
