How do you get money from a car insurance claim?
I recently submitted an insurance claim for damage to my vehicle. The car needs to be repaired but my claim hasn’t been approved yet. How does a car insurance payout work?

“Sorry to hear you were in an accident! Your claim will need to be approved prior to receiving a payout from your
car insurance
company.The claim approval process will take some time. While insurance companies try to work quickly, it may take up to 30 days to receive approval.
But if you submitted a claim and it hasn’t been approved yet, you can reach out to your insurer for an update. That way, you will ensure the holdup isn’t due to any missteps on your end and can confirm the insurance company has all the information they require.
Is your vehicle undrivable until it’s repaired? If so, you should see if your policy includes
rental reimbursement coverage
, which will pay for a rental car while your vehicle is being repaired.Once your claim is approved, your car insurance company will likely send the check directly to the repair shop. You may need to pay your deductible to the repair shop, as well.”
