How do you get engine oil out of your car carpet?

What are some ways to get engine oil out of a car carpet? I spilled engine oil in my car and I don’t know how to get it out without spreading the stain and making it worse.

Don’t worry! While
cleaning engine oil
out of your car carpet can be a difficult task, you can do it with baking soda or cornstarch! Here’s how:
  • First, scrape off any excess oil that’s sitting on top.
  • Sprinkle baking soda or cornstarch on the stain. Let it sit for at least 10 to 15 minutes. The longer you let it sit, the more oil it can absorb.
  • When you’re satisfied, vacuum up the baking soda or cornstarch and, using a clean cloth, dab the stain with a dry cleaning solution like Shout Auto.
  • If the stain is still there, mix one tablespoon of liquid dish detergent, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water. Use this to dab the remaining stain.
  • When you’re satisfied, dab the stain with cold water to get rid of any residual vinegar or detergent. Pat the area dry with a clean cloth to avoid any mold or mildew.
While you wait for the baking soda or cornstarch to absorb the oil, why not take a minute to save some money on your car insurance? The process is easy when you use the
