How do you get an abandoned car towed in Philadelphia?
For the past week, there’s been an abandoned Ford Focus parked in front of my house. I’ve spoken to neighbors and regulars in the area and no one has claimed the vehicle. I’m having a Christmas party soon, and I’m going to need the space out front. How can I have an abandoned car towed away in Philadelphia?

With the holidays coming up, having a vehicle abandoned in front of your house is less than ideal. Luckily, there are multiple ways to get an abandoned car towed in Philadelphia:
- Call 311 (or 215-686-8686 if you are outside of Philadelphia)
- Send an email tophilly311@phila.gov
- Use the mobile app or website to report it
When you report the vehicle, you will need to provide the following information:
- The car’s make, model, and color
- A description of the vehicle’s condition
- A picture of the car, if possible
- The closest address to the vehicle
- The license plate number and state
After the abandoned vehicle is reported, it will be investigated. Note that it can take upwards of two months for the vehicle to be removed from the area. However, if the vehicle is a safety hazard, it may be removed the same day.
